Cloud Block Storage

A stable, low-latency, scalable, and persistent block storage service. Usable as an independent disk for CVMs.

Overview

Cloud Block Storage (CBS) is a persistent block storage service designed for CVM instances. CBS protects against data failures with up to 99.9999999% reliability, including replication within availability zone. It allows you to select the CBS disk type and specification that best fits your business.

Benefits

Elastic Scalability

A single cloud disk can store up to 32000GiB of data, and up to 20 elastic cloud disks can be mounted to a single CVM instance. There is no limit to the storage capacity of a single CBS cluster. The storage capacity can be freely configured and scaled as needed to meet the requirements of your business, enabling efficient processing of big data at the terabyte and petabyte levels.

Multiple Storage Types

CBS offers four volume options including HDD cloud disk, premium cloud disk, SSD cloud disk, and Enhanced SSD cloud disk to meet different business storage requirements.  Supports up to 100,000 random IOPS, 1000MB/s throughput capacity, and stable low latency, making it easy to deploy I/O intensive services.

High Stability and Reliability

Protect against failures with 99.9999999% reliability and facilitate rapid data migration and recovery with industry-leading replication mechanism.

Easy to Use

Deploy and manage your CBS disks easily through simple operations such as creation, mounting, unmounting and deletion.

Snapshot Backup

Back up your data and ensure data availability by taking point-in-time snapshots of cloud disks to prevent data loss and business failures.

Scenarios

Enterprise Office Applications

Ensure data availability and integrity with comprehensive capabilities such as data backup, snapshot and recovery. Migrate or resize your storage on the fly without disrupting your business.

Relational/NoSQL Databases

Ensure continuous and stable high performance and low latency for disks during peak hours with full SSD storage media and distributed architecture. CBS supports running high-throughput databases and satisfies the high-IO needs of NoSQL/relational databases.

High-Volume Data Analytics

CBS supports Hadoop-Mapreduce and HDFS for processing terabytes or petabytes of data offline with excellent multi-thread access performance to satisfy needs in high-IO storage scenarios.
